Here you can find information on the rank structure within the guild.
List of Ranks
This is a list of the ranks as they appear in the roster in-game and summaries of what they mean, starting with the lowest.
- Lay Member - Fresh recruits pending an interview, but also members who wish to aid the Order as blacksmiths, cooks, town criers and so on or simply support the guild in OOC matters such as PvE or PvP.
- Initiate – Rookie disciples who have recently joined the Order by passing an interview and filled in an application on the forums. Most initiates will be tasked with learning about Order, it's history and members, it's code, our beliefs and structure.
When the Initiate has proven his/hers dedication and knowledge about the Order the character gets to choose what trainee rank he/she wants to belong to.
- Adept - Members that wish to focus studying the Light as a either a Cleric or a Scout. Clerics focus mainly on knowledge, healing and preaching. Scouts focus mainly on light-armoured combat and information-gathering. Is allowed to wear a tabard.
- Squire - Members that are mentored by Knights, who focus their studies on how to be Paladins, warriors of the Light. Heavy armor, close-combat and cavalry training combined with studies of warfare and knightly behaviour. Is allowed to wear a tabard.
When the member are considered to have gone beyond the status of trainee they will be promoted to the core rank of the Order. There they may continue their personal development and their studies as is fit to their character.
- Devout - Full members of the Disciples of Light, allowed to pursue studies or professions of their own choosing to serve the Light and the Order. Devout disciples are also permitted to attempt the path of Knighthood or become a Deacon.
Not all members may want to advance further, but there are again two paths to choose from if this is desired. The ranks above Devout are considered Officers of different degrees, whom lower ranks have to respect as such and obey accordingly.
- Deacon - Disciples who do not wish to attempt becoming a Knight and still have earned a respected status within the Order equal to that of Knights in any profession or service. Deacons are divided as either Cleric or Scout. Note that even though these members are as important as any Knight, IC they will be considered supplemental to the actual Knighthood. Deacons have the possibility of becoming Chaplains.
- Knight - Disciples who have gone above and beyond to prove their Valor, Courage, Strength, Wisdom and Ability to lead. To be shining beacons of our Order, trusted by all members of the Order and the society. Knights are military leaders of high moral standard and combat skills.
