Priestess Irys Grimrock, Deacon and High Cleric in the Chapter of Knowledge with the Disciples of Light.

==Biography==
===Description===
Irys Grimrock was born roughly 25 years ago in the city of Gilneas behind the Greymane Wall. She has green eyes, dark hair and is generally very beautiful and innocent looking.

She is the daughter of Jack Grimrock, a hunter, and Milly Travis, a clerk at the Gilnean First Bank.

Irys has one sibling, an older brother named George.

===Personality===
Irys enjoys observing the daily life in the city of Stormwind and everywhere she goes. She has a keen eye for detail and attempts to envision the essence of the Holy Light in everything she sees.

Irys is always ready to help those who are in need of assistance or have lost their way either literally or spiritually. She is a cheerful and sometimes overly curious Gilnean girl.

==Background==
===Early Life===
Irys grew up in a small farmhouse on the edge of Gilneas city. Her mother was at work in the city every day, while her father was usually home during the day and out hunting at night. While her mother provided a steady income, her father was able to earn some extra gold by selling animal hides and saving money on food by eating what he killed. This extra bit of gold was kept aside for when George and Irys were old enough to get a decent education.

Irys had a big group of friends, all children from neighbouring farms, with whom she spent time almost every day. Her relationship with her brother was very close, though they usually did not play games together.

===Education===
While she was still too young to attend school, Irys was home-taught by her mother during her spare time. As Irys grew older, she attended the basic and higher educational schools in the city. She finished her education at the age of 17 and moved on to the Gilnean Cathedral where she began her studies to become a priestess.

===Fall of Gilneas===
The Gilneans always believed they were safe behind the Wall; safe from outside interference with their lives and safe from any danger. Until the day came when the Wall was destroyed and feral Worgen poured into the greater area of Gilneas.

Chaos and panic erupted everywhere. Irys was just returning from the city with her brother when they heard the screams behind them. They turned around only to see fast moving shadows and glimpses of people being torn to shreds. They quickly ran home and barricaded themselves in the basement with their father and mother by their side.

===Moments of fear===
Frightened civilians broke into their home to find refuge. Several moments later, seemingly endless screams were heard as the wild Worgen beasts burst into the farmhouse and killed everyone upstairs.

When they heard the beasts leave and everything turned silent again, Irys’ father took his rifle and carefully checked the upstairs part of the house. He was gone for a long time, and eventually Irys’ mother went to look for him.
They both returned safely several hours later. They informed their children that the citizens are gathering at the prison’s courtyard to mount an offensive. The family set out to listen to the announcements at the prison as the feral beasts came once again out of nowhere and overran the prison area.

In an attempt to find shelter, Irys and her family ran into a nearby house and barricaded the front door with furniture.

===A terrible loss===
Multiple days passed. Screams were heard almost all the time, accompanied with gunfire and military commanders shouting instructions to their troops.

Eventually the family was found by an armed group of farmers who informed them about Night Elf evacuation ships which arrived at the harbor moments ago. As word got out about the ships, the remaining citizens went into a frenzy and rushed towards the harbor area. During the rush, Irys and her brother lost their parents. To make matters worse, George had been caged and taken away by an angry mob after he was bitten by a feral.

Irys was forced to travel to Darnassus on her own.

===Lost and alone===
While Irys was amazed by the city’s architecture and culture, she could not call Darnassus her new home. She regretted not staying behind to discover the fate of her brother, and of her parents. She always had a close bond with all of them, though now she felt as if the bond between her and her parents had been cut. Irys knew her parents were dead. She was hurting, sad, lost, lonely.

Irys decided she could not stay in the Night Elf capital. She took a boat to Stormwind, yet another place she had only read about during her studies.

Upon arrival in the city, a fisherman directed her to the abbey in Northshire. Irys had not given up on her hopes to becoming a priestess. She felt she needed to do something more, she needed to make a real difference.

==Recent changes==
===Moving on===
As Irys’ training progressed in the Abbey, the brothers sent her to the city on a daily basis to observe the daily life there and learn from what she witnessed, one of her favorite tasks.

On one of her visits, she bumped into a priest named [[Jean-Pierre d'Armagnac|Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac]]. This wise young man spoke to her about the order he was in; the Disciples of Light. After giving it some careful consideration Irys returned to the man several days later and requested to join the order, believing it would greatly benefit her studies and that she could offer assistance to the Disciples any way possible.

===Training, studying, devotion===
With the help of Chaplains [[Jean-Pierre d'Armagnac|Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac]] and [[Venji|Venji the Grand]], Irys advanced fast with her studies and attained the rank of Squire, followed by the rank of Gallant. As a Gallant, she is currently working in the Chapter of Knowledge under the guidance of and assisting Chaplain d’Armagnac as best she can.

In her time with the Disciples, the Chaplain has given her training on several topics including patient treatment and perseverance in times of distress.

===Closure===
After the attacks of the Forsaken on Eastvale, many people were left battling a [[Attack_on_Eastvale|new plague]].
[[Jean-Pierre d'Armagnac|Chaplain Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac]] offered his dedication to find a cure for this plague, which eventually led to a search for a Black Lotus in the Blasted Lands.

After having spent a short amount of time in the village of Surwich in the Blasted Lands, Irys was reminded by the architecture and the inhabitants about her home and what had happened to her family and friends. She realized she never took the time to grief for their loss, and so she decided to travel to the greater Gilnean area in search of [[Closure_at_Gilneas|closure]].

===Love===
Over time, Irys and Chaplain d’Armagnac – Jean, as she would call him – got closer to each other as they worked together day in, day out. The intense training they shared would create a strong bond between them, one fused by the Light… and eventually by love as well. The day Jean revealed his feelings for her was one of the happiest moments she had experienced in a long time, and also one of the scariest. Together, they approached High Chaplain Valestrion Drayke and informed him of their love for one another. They received his blessing if it would not interfere with their duties. Irys and Jean proclaimed it would not, and have been together ever since.

===Growing up===
After years of training and trials, Irys was granted the rank of Knight during a grand ceremony in the Stormwind Cathedral. The ceremony was led by High Chaplain Valestrion Drayke with the aid of Chaplain Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac as Irys’ sponsor. Gallant Rae Wulfgnar was Irys’ supporter during the ceremony. Gallant Irys Grimrock became Lady Irys Grimrock. Although she did not become a plate armoured Knight, the High Chaplain informed her that the title is recognition of the path she has travelled as a Disciple. By this title, she could show the citizens that they can approach her at any time with their problems.

As she worked ever more diligently within the Order, she gained the trust of the senior members and was eventually promoted by High Chaplain Valestrion Drayke to Lieutenant of the Knowledge Chapter. As Lieutenant, she became the right-hand of Chaplain d’Armagnac who was doing more work than he could handle in the King’s Royal Library.

===A shadow taint===
One day, the Disciples were called out to deal with a Lich who had taken over the catacombs under Raven Hill in Duskwood. Irys was tasked to accompany Sir Beladon Indarys, Sir Tam Urthwyte and Squire Susan Earlstead into the catacombs as the other Disciples fought back a seemingly endless onslaught of reanimated skeletons and undead corpses. Upon defeating the Lich, a violent explosion of shadow, fire and ice caught her off guard and struck her down. Her robes caught on fire; her allies scurried to put out the flames. Irys was badly injured, having suffered burn wounds all over her body as well as a broken left arm. The wounds were quickly treated by Initiate Lini Richfield, and Irys slowly recovered from the ordeal. She was experiencing temporary memory losses, bursts of anger and disrespect, and was spotted drinking alcoholic beverages…. Nobody had sensed the manifestation of a shadow taint inside of her, until it was too late. The taint slowly consumed Irys, until it was finally strong enough to be sensed. Squires Monrena Scaletail and Elric Williams approached Irys in the Stormwind graveyard, managed to subdue her and drove the taint out of her at the risk of their own lives. Irys was finally able to recover entirely, and things quickly turned back to normal.

===Lost and alone===

==Recent changes==
===Moving on===

===Training, studying, devotion===

===Closure===

===Love===

===Growing up===

===A shadow taint===

More to be added later...

Irys:

After a long an exhausting flight, [[Irys]] arrived late at night at the outskirts of Gilneas. She remembered there being an inn at Keel Harbor and travelled there to find out if it is still in business.
As luck would have it the inn was open yet badly damaged, and neither the innkeeper nor any staff were present.

When Irys entered the building, there were two young women sitting at a table. One had blonde hair, the other dark. The blonde haired woman greeted Irys as she walked in, the other seemed completely oblivious of her surroundings.

----

Irys soon found out that the inn, now named “The Mangy Mastiff”, was attacked only days ago by a group of pirates passing by the area. Several large and smaller holes were punched through the building as the ship’s cannons targeted the harbor. The inn was a mess. Broken plates, bottles and cups littered the floor, together with half-eaten chunks of meat. Curtains were ripped and entire kegs were emptied or simply missing.

The blonde woman informed Irys that the other woman was inside the inn as the attacks occurred. She was injured in the event but her physical wounds had already been treated. However, the woman seemed unresponsive to anything happening around her. Irys was asked to try and communicate with her, perhaps get her to eat something.

Irys immediately focused on the injured woman, who would just stare through her as if she was not there at all. Irys asked her several questions, but since the woman did not answer any of them she decided to talk about herself instead, in an attempt to gain the woman’s trust.

Irys explained that she came to Gilneas looking for closure. She needed to find out what happened to the remains of her parents, and if they had been buried she needed to weep and pray at their graves.

The other woman interrupted Irys, mentioning some sort of a ledger or register which contains the names of the victims during and shortly after the Wall was breached.

Irys took note of this information, but decided that the dark haired victim needed attention first.

----

After several unsuccessful attempts to get a response from the woman, the woman suddenly stood up and went outside. Irys and the blonde woman quickly followed, observing her closely.

The dark haired woman, who Irys later found out worked at the inn, was pointing at the inn’s cellar doors at the back of the building. When attempting to open the doors, the blonde woman noticed they were locked.

Due to the heavy rain and cold winds, both women took the waitress back inside. They never figured out why she was pointing at the cellar doors.

Irys realized she wasn’t getting through to the waitress. She remembered a technique taught to her by [[Jeanpierre|Chaplain d’Armagnac]] which allowed her to try and communicate with someone via thoughts.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard Irys tried, the woman remained unresponsive. She held the woman by her hands, closed her eyes and searched for any traces of Fel energy. None were found.

In desperation, Irys remembered seeing the [[Jeanpierre|Chaplain]] perform a special method to find out whether dark magics might be blocking any form of interaction with the victim.

She quickly rushed into the inn’s kitchen where she found a jar of salt and a can of water. The blonde woman was quick to point out that the water supplies could be poisoned, and so she brought in a filled cup from a bucket which was collecting fresh rain water.

Irys opened her pouch, removed a small vial from it and poured some of its contents into the cup of water. As she began to draw circles on the floor with a piece of chalk she found on the counter, she asked the blonde woman to collect some dirt from outside.

Irys drew three circles; two small ones and a big one in between them. She poured the salt in one circle and asked the woman to drop the dirt in the other. She attempted to get the waitress to drink the potion she made, though she remained uncooperative. Irys had no other option but to force the woman to drink it, which she did.

Both women guided the waitress into the big circle as Irys explained her plan. She was going to attempt to create a flow of Light moving from one circle to the other. The potion would facilitate the flow through the woman. If no flow could be created, it would mean that the woman is filled with dark magics.

After making sure everything was perfect, Irys held the waitress’ hands, closed her eyes and summoned the Light to her. As time slowly progressed, a bright aura of Light surrounded Irys filling the room with warmth.
And so Irys attempted to create a flow of Light from one circle, through the woman, to the other circle. The first attempt was immediately successful. The aura vanished as Irys opened her eyes. She had mixed feelings about what just happened. On one hand, the woman is not possessed by any magics. On the other, they still did not know what was wrong with her.

Irys felt disappointed. Was there something else she could do? Something she had missed?

She went upstairs to meditate on the matter, and due to the exhaustion of her travels she fell asleep shortly after.

----

When Irys woke up the next day, she immediately ran downstairs to find out if there was any change in the woman’s condition. To her surprise she found the woman hard at work behind the counter, cleaning up the mess and baking fresh bread and pies at the same time.

Irys confronted the woman about what had happened, yet she seemed to have no recollection of the previous days. She had no clue as to who Irys was, how she got there or what she had done.

Irys concluded that the woman was in shock, and that all of her attempts to restore her were unnecessary as all she needed was some rest. Irys was glad the woman was better, but disappointed when she realized she did not recognize the signs of shock. She wondered what the [[Jeanpierre|Chaplain]] would have done in this situation, and how he would have reacted to her actions.

Irys enjoyed a nice breakfast, freshly made by the waitress. She payed for her meal and the night she spent in the inn.

After redressing herself, she set forth to the graveyard in search for any familiar names. When she arrived there, she couldn’t believe her eyes. Hundreds of graves lay before her, many more than what she last remembered. So many losses, it was a shocking sight. Irys never realized how many lives were lost, and the graves before her probably did not contain all of the victims. Many people were torn to shreds, mutilated, burned. The chances of her parents having their own grave are slim, yet she was not about to give up on them that easily.

Irys had spent hours at the graveyard, checking the names on each and every grave. From time to time she stopped to pray for those who were lost, and to clean some of the tombstones.

Tired, she returned to the inn for a short rest. When she arrived back at the Mangy Mastiff, the innkeeper had returned. He was aware of the situation and confirmed that there is indeed a register, though nobody knows where. He suggested the old Greymane Manor, though advised caution as the place is haunted by lost spirits and a witch.

After regaining her strength, Irys travelled to the Manor in search for clues. The place was deserted. No spirits were seen, no witch was found. And neither were any clues to the register.

Irys returned empty handed to the inn for another night’s rest.

----

Several days had gone by. Word had travelled that a Gilnean girl had returned to her place of birth, looking for information about her parents. More and more visitors, both human and Worgen, stopped by the inn to see her. None of them spoke to her though; perhaps they were merely looking for a familiar face.

Irys visited the graveyard every day to check the remaining graves. Eventually she found one grave with a familiar name: Jack Grimrock. At last she had found the final resting place of her father. She was overjoyed and overcome with grief at the same time. She kneeled at his grave, crying and praying for hours. She searched the surrounding graves but could not find a trace of her mother.

Eventually, Irys felt she had spent enough time in the Gilnean area and decided she should return to Stormwind. The victims of the plague needed her help more than the people of Gilneas.

When she left, there was nobody present at the inn. She wrote a note and pinned it to the door.

<nowiki>"To the staff of the Mangy Mastiff, and to the local residents:

I was in somewhat of a hurry and didn't have a chance to talk to all of you before I left.
I wanted to thank you all for your kindness and hospitality during my stay.
The registry which I have been looking for has not been found, though I discovered my father's
grave at the graveyard west of the city.
The location of my mother's remains are still unknown to me. I will return some day to search
for her resting place.

Light be with you all.
Irys Grimrock"</nowiki>

Before she flew off to south, she stopped by her father’s grave one last time. She promised him she would return, and that she would never stop searching for her mother. She hoped he would be proud of her.

Apprentice Priestess Irys Grimrock, Gallant in the Chapter of Knowledge with the Disciples of Light.

==Biography==
===Description===

===Personality===

==Background==
===Early Life===

===Education===

While she was still too young to attend school, Irys was home-taught by her mother during her spare time. As Irys grew older, she attended the basic and higher educational schools in the city. She finished her education at the age of 17 and moved on to the Gilnean Cathedral where she began her studies to become a priestess.

===Fall of Gilneas===

===Moments of fear===

===A terrible loss===

===Lost and alone===

==Recent changes==
===Moving on===

As Irys’ training progressed in the Abbey, the brothers sent her to the city on a daily basis to observe the daily life there and learn from what she witnessed, one of her favorite tasks.

On one of her visits, she bumped into a priest named [[Jeanpierre|Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac]]. This wise young man spoke to her about the order he was in; the Disciples of Light. After giving it some careful consideration Irys returned to the man several days later and requested to join the order, believing it would greatly benefit her studies and that she could offer assistance to the Disciples any way possible.

===Training, studying, devotion===

With the help of Chaplains [[Jeanpierre|Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac]] and [[Venji|Venji the Grand]], Irys advanced fast with her studies and attained the rank of Squire, followed by the rank of Gallant. As a Gallant, she is currently working in the Chapter of Knowledge under the guidance of and assisting Chaplain d’Armagnac as best she can.

In her time with the Disciples, the Chaplain has given her training on several topics including patient treatment and perseverance in times of distress.

===Closure===

After the attacks of the Forsaken on Eastvale, many people were left battling a [[Attack_on_Eastvale|new plague]].
[[Jeanpierre|Chaplain Jean-Pierre d’Armagnac]] offered his dedication to find a cure for this plague, which eventually led to a search for a Black Lotus in the Blasted Lands.

After having spent a short amount of time in the village of Surwich in the Blasted Lands, Irys was reminded by the architecture and the inhabitants about her home and what had happened to her family and friends. She realized she never took the time to grief for their loss, and so she decided to travel to the greater Gilneas area in search of [[Closure_at_Gilneas|closure]].

After a long an exhausting flight, Irys arrived late at night at the outskirts of Gilneas.

She remembered a technique taught to her by Chaplain d’Armagnac which allowed her to try and communicate with someone via thoughts.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard Irys tried, the woman remained unresponsive. She held the woman by her hands, closed her eyes and searched for any traces of Fel energy. None were found.

In desperation, Irys remembered seeing the Chaplain perform a special method to find out whether dark magics might be blocking any form of interaction with the victim.

She wondered what the Chaplain would have done in this situation, and how he would have reacted to her actions.

=Biography=
==Description==

==Personality==

=Background=
==Early Life==

==Education==

While she was still too young to attend school, Irys was home-taught by her mother during her spare time. As Irys grew older, she attended the basic and higher educational schools in the city. She finished her education at the age of 17 and moved on to the Gilnean Cathedral where she began her studies to become a priestess.

==Fall of Gilneas==

==Moments of fear==

==A terrible loss==

==Lost and alone==

=Recent changes=
==Moving on==

==Training, studying, devotion==

==Closure==

After the attacks of the Forsaken on Eastvale, many people were left battling a new plague.

In an attempt to find shelter, Irys and her family ran into a nearby house and barricaded the front door with furniture.

===A terrible loss===

===Lost and alone===

==Recent changes==
===Moving on===

===Training, studying, devotion===

Apprentice Priestess Irys Grimrock, Gallant in the Chapter of Knowledge with the Disciples of Light.

==Description==
===Biography===

===Personality===

==Background==
===Early Life===

===Education===

While she was still too young to attend school, Irys was home-taught by her mother during her spare time. As Irys grew older, she attended the basic and higher educational schools in the city. She finished her education at the age of 17 and moved on to the Gilnean Cathedral where she began her studies to become a priestess.

===Fall of Gilneas===

===Moments of fear===

==Description==

Irys Grimrock was born roughly 25 years ago in the city of Gilneas behind the Greymane Wall. She has green eyes, dark hair and is generally very beautiful and innocent looking. Irys is a cheerful and sometimes overly curious Gilnean girl.

She is the daughter of Jack Grimrock, a hunter, and Milly Travis, a clerk at the Gilnean First Bank.

Irys has one sibling, an older brother named George.

==Personality==

Irys enjoys observing the daily life in the city of Stormwind and everywhere she goes. She has a keen eye for detail and attempts to envision the essence of the Holy Light in everything she sees.

Irys is always ready to help those who are in need of assistance or have lost their way either literally or spiritually.

==Early Life==

==Education==

While she was still too young to attend school, Irys was home-taught by her mother during her spare time. As Irys grew older, she attended the basic and higher educational schools in the city. She finished her education at the age of 17 and moved on to the Gilnean Cathedral where she began her studies to become a priestess.

==Fall of Gilneas==

==Moments of fear==

==A terrible loss==

==Lost and alone==

==Moving on==

==Training, studying, devotion==
